DES106 - Introduction to Communication Design

Semester 1 Hand-In Details

All work for Semester 1 has to be handed-in to the Belfast Campus between 12.00 – 1.00pm on Friday 8th January 2010

Your disk should be left in personally to me outside room 82C25 on C Floor (the floor above the lecture theatre). Take a left at the top of the stairs (or right if you're taking the lift), pass the School Office and through the door, I will be seated near the kitchen area to the left.

In line with University regulations we have to collect a disk containing your semester 1 work and design diary for our records. Your disk should be a mirror of the DES106 part of your website and contain all of your project material and design diary.

Make sure you have your name and student number written in indelible ink on your disk. We will provide the necessary forms to complete your submission so there is no need to bring anything with you other than the disk.

Have a great Christmas and see you all in the new year.

Get Dropbox

As mentioned in the lecture, if you're not using it, we strongly recommend you sign up for a Dropbox account. You can use this for a number of purposes: as a means of sync'ing multiple computers; as a means of creating a free, shared working space to enable collaboration with your colleagues; or as a form of off-site storage for archiving purposes.

If you click one of the links below you get an additional 250MB of storage space free. One link shares the love with Chris; one shares the love with Nicklas. Is Nicklas 'Me'? Is Chris 'You'? Is Paul 'Him'? Are we 'You'? Are you 'Me'? Is he 'Him?

Confused already? Just click on one of the links, but which one will you choose?

Thanks for sharing the love and enjoy your Dropbox.

Adobe Roadshow

As announced at the lecture, Adobe is coming to town. This event, organised by our friends at Giant is free for registered users.

The half day event, which runs from 1.00-5.00 pm on Wednesday, 25 November will feature presentations from Adobe, who will be showcasing CS4, in particular outlining new features and faster working methods. This will include Photoshop retouching techniques and 3D and Video effects.

This is a great opportunity to hear from one of the industry leaders in this area and also, as ever, a great networking opportunity.
